Candy Van Buskirk
Assistant Superintendent, Career and Success Academy South Bend
Candy Van Buskirk, Ph.D. is the assistant superintendent at Career and Success Academy South Bend. She is a forward-thinking educational leader, and is passionate about providing innovative, engaging and experiential learning opportunities to all students both within and beyond the walls of the classroom. Candy has been an educator for the past 25 years, from instructing and coaching at the postsecondary level to teaching and leading in the k-12 educational setting. At every educational level she believes all students deserve an equitable and engaging learning experience. Most recently she is helping to lead a cutting-edge partnership between Career and Success Academy South Bend and Boys and Girls Club of St. Joseph County, where jointly they have been awarded the Indiana’s Explore, Engage and Experience Grant (3E). The 3E grant is providing the opportunity to…learn beyond the walls of the classroom. The current work her team is moving forward is providing career exploration opportunities for all students k-8, and experiential hands-on work for secondary students.
