Ashli Detweiler
World of Work Regional Coordinator
Ashli Detweiler is a compassionate educator whose main purpose is to provide equitable learning experiences for all. Her background is in Elementary Education and holds a Master’s degree in STEM. She is currently seeking her Principal Certificate through Point Park University. Ashli has served the Duquesne City School District, just outside of Pittsburgh, and the students at Duquesne since 2014. During her time at Duquesne, she had the opportunity to teach 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade students before transitioning into the role of the Instructional STEAM Coach. Shifting from working with students to working with teachers allowed her the opportunity to grow and strengthen her own professional practice while helping those around her do the same. She firmly believes in collaboration, building relationships, and communicating with one another.
In her current role as the World of Work Regional Coordinator, she works alongside administrators, teachers, and students in the Avonworth, Duquesne City, Elizabeth Forward, and South Fayette School Districts. All four districts are in the Pittsburgh Region, and all are pilot districts for the World of Work initiative. She helps support districts to build common language around RIASEC and helps to implement World of Work into core content areas.
Ashli resides in the Pittsburgh area with her husband, Jarred, two children, Collins (7) and Carmie (5), and black lab, Fiona (10).
