Mary Carole Perry
Assistant Superintendent of Elizabeth Forward School District
Mary Carole Perry has served in private and public education for nearly 20 years. She began her public education career in the Elizabeth Forward School District. She has held various roles, including Dean of Students, Assistant High School Principal, and Elementary School Principal. Dr. Perry was recently promoted to Assistant to the Superintendent of the Elizabeth Forward School District.
Dr. Perry received her Bachelor and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and a School Counselor Certificate from Chatham University. She later earned her Master’s degree in Education and Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania in addition to a Doctoral degree from Point Park University.
Dr. Perry believes in the importance of working with educators, parents, business leaders, community organizations, and academia. These collaborations ensure that all the students she serves have opportunities to experience success both in and out of the classroom. She understands that building strong relationships with students and their families is necessary for a positive learning experience. In 2016, Dr. Perry was awarded the Be There Award from the United Way for her outstanding commitment to supporting children in the region.
During her tenure as an elementary school principal, the school she led was awarded a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Over the years, she worked with her faculty and staff to develop their skills using Apple technology and personalizing learning for each student in the classroom, leading them to become designated as an Apple Distinguished School.
Dr. Perry resides in the Pittsburgh area with her husband, Anthony. She loves being a mom to her son, Pasquale, and stepchildren, Cody and Daniel.
