Kimberly Fifer

Director of Educational Innovation, Central Indiana Educational Service Center

Dr. Kimberly Fifer is currently the Director of Educational Innovation at the Central Indiana Educational Service Center where she leads the Indiana Career Collaborative.  Kimberly is also a Ford Next Generation Learning Community Coach.  Prior to these roles she served as Assistant Superintendent at Greater Clark County Schools and Clark-Pleasant Community Schools. She has spent 26 years in the education field.  Her career began in 1997 when entering the field as a middle school teacher.  After six years in the classroom, Dr. Fifer began a fourteen year adventure as a building principal at both the elementary and secondary settings.

Dr. Fifer’s tenure in education has also led to 20 years of work in the field of consulting where she serves as an educational consultant.  Her work to support school leaders centers around strategic planning at both the district and building levels and working with turnaround schools.

In collaboration with her role in education, Mrs. Fifer previously served as a board member and president of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce in DeKalb County Indiana.  The mission of the DeKalb Chamber centered on connecting business, community and education, making it an amazing place to live, work and play.  This experience led to Kimberly playing a key role in the implementation of the Academies of Greater Clark based on the Ford Next Generation Learning Model.  In addition to her work implementing the career academy model, Dr. Fifer was the author of the first non-career and technical education pathway (CTE) approved by the Indiana State Board of Education under the new Graduation Pathway model.

Kimberly earned her Masters in Educational Administration from Indiana University. She completed her Educational Specialist Degree and Superintendent Licensure at Indiana State University. Lastly, completed her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Oakland City University.

Working to build systems, structures and processes to prepare students for their next step after high school is both a pride and passion for Kimberly.
